Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday 14 December 2017. Loving husband of Pat for 59 years. Loved Pa, affectionately known as Roffie by his children Kris, Cathy, Dina, Andy, Jon and Jo. Loved Grandad and Great Grandad. Respected friend of many and all the “Wichers Farm” children.

Ralph will lie at home on Saturday morning from 9am – 12 noon and his funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Methodist Church at 2pm followed by internment at the Wairoa Cemetery.

Heartfelt thanks to all those involved with Ralph’s care at the end of his life.

No flowers please.

Arohanui to the Wichers whanau.... Blessed to go to Wichers Farm in the younger days. I don't know how Mr and Mrs Wichers put up with us at times, I suppose it was their Big Hearts and love for others. Respect and love to you both.

My condolences to the Wichers family. I will always cherish the weekends on the farm, haymaking in summer not necessarily getting hay fever badly, and also tramping with Ron and Pat. Ralph was a dad to so many xx

Lost for words
No words can truely describe the loss of such a great man loved by so many.
Will cherish my memories i have with Ralph (dad whichers) and the time spent on the farm
Singing while feeding out the hay
The little tricks we used to play on each other
Rest in peace .
