10th October 1947 – 5th November 2023
Passed peacefully Sunday 5th November 2023 at Hastings Hospital, aged 76. Beloved husband of Helen(dec), beloved father of Janine, Lisa, Brent, and stepsons Joel and Grant. Grandfather of many. Dearly loved brother of Michelle, Megan, Grant (dec), Craig, Glenn (dec). Bravely and positively fought the total paralysis caused by an injury during a medical procedure 12 months ago at Hastings Hospital. Gordon had his wish to live back in Wairoa in his home with his dog even though was just a short time. Special thanks to the amazing and caring care workers and to his wonderful friends, especially Dot and Lance Watkins. They enabled Gordon to have 24 hour care in his own home. A service will be held at Pickering's Chapel Saturday 18th November at 1pm. Followed by interment at Wairoa Cemetery. Gordon will be buried beside his beloved wife Helen.
