​BEATTY, Ru (Sonny)

Sonny was born 4 October 1948 in Taihape to Rakai Beatty and Marie Beatty (nee Winiata).  He passed on 5 July 2022 surrounded by his close whanau at the Hawkes Bay hospital.

He is the loved husband of Rose Beatty (nee Shelford), dad to Darren and Moana, father-in-law to Barbara and Larvinia and grandfather to Rayden, Cael, Keis, Whare, Anahera, Phoenix and Teina.

The whanau would love to thank our wider whanau for their love and support for dad, in particular dad’s Uncle Eru Beattie, Aunty Bana (Atareta) Beattie, Aunty Moana Ngarimu (nee Beattie), and all his brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.  We also want to thank the staff at the Hawkes Bay hospital for looking after dad in his last few days.

He will lay at Taihoa Marae from Wednesday 6 July 2022 and will be buried at Te Uhi urupa on Friday 8 July 2022.  Karakia will start at 11am at Taihoa marae.  Call Darren on 0212416231 if you have any queries.
