78 years young
Died in the month of Matariki and in his birthplace. Tuesday 25 June 2019.
After a brief struggle with cancer, Rog peeled his last spud, washed his last dish and scraped the burnt pot, gave specific instructions on stacking the woodshed and pine cones.
Special and loved father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle, friend, colleague and all round bloody good mate to many. Poppa Rog to his sparing bff’s Missy and Jessica. Long time co worker of Maata, Noa, Jacko and Tina
Forever sweetheart of his George.
Rog was accepted as a donor to Brain Research Auckland and in lieu of flowers, please donate to this outstanding cause. A private cremation has taken place per his instructions. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
 
Special acknowledgement to staff in the acute ward in the Wairoa Hospital and Dr Rob Grumbo. Words do not adequately express how much you meant to so many people in your quiet, steady, genuinely loving ways. Thank you for being there for us. Forever in our hearts.
