​O’BRIEN, Phillip Joseph

It is with a heavy heart we advise the peaceful passing of Phillip (Phil) Joseph O’Brien on 3rd March 2026. Beloved son of Richard Rihari O’Brien & Hineitiaria Jean OBrien (nee Whare). Loved husband of Ronda (nee Kiddie), loved father of Raewyn & Dave Clissold and Chantal O’Brien. Loved papa to Tarani & Jay.
 
Loved brother, brother-in-law, cousin, uncle & friend to many. A small service will be held at Pickering Funeral Chapel on Friday, 6th March 2026 at 10am.
 
Dad will then be taken to his final resting place 970 Ngaatira Road, Ngaatira Marae, Lichfield. On Saturday 7th March 2026, a small service will be held early afternoon (time to be advised).
 
Rest easy dad, you fought the good fight with a beer in your hand and hand-piece in the other (OG shearer since the 70’s)
