With the heaviest hearts, we announce the passing of Rihi McKenzie, who departed this life on December 16th 2025. Rihi was a devoted husband to Jan, a loving father to Bradley and Amber-Jane, and a treasured Pups to Lenny. He was a much-loved and respected man, deeply cherished by his wider family, friends and all whose lives he touched. A service will be held at Pickering Funeral Chapel on Thursday, 18th December, at 10am . Following this service, Rihi will travel to Kahungunu Marae, Nuhaka, where he will lay until Saturday, 20th December. On Friday evening, a poroporoaki will be held for family and friends. This will be a time for shared memories and tributes, with the floor open for those who wish to speak. A funeral service will be held at the marae on Saturday at 10am Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and pay their respects as we gather to honor and celebrate Rihi’s life.

To Jan and Whanau on behalf of The Jones Whanau I would like to express my Condolences to you all Rihi was a great inspiration to my late brother Julian Jones who passed April 2025 Rihi was always there to help out with maintenance and farm help for a number of years they just understood each other in many ways so I would like to express my sadness to such a hard worker and now Rihi rest in peace Janice and Jonss Whanau
