It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Leo Koziol. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Leo’s ashes will arrive onto Kahungunu Marae on Thursday, 20 August at 2pm, followed by whaikōrero and afternoon tea. Whānau and friends are welcome to stay the night with us at the marae. His funeral service will be held at the marae on Friday, 21 August at 10am, before he is taken to the Nuhaka Public Cemetery for his burial at 12pm. We will then return to the marae for a hākari at 1pm. I am truly sorry that I couldn't personally attend. My deepest condolences from over here in Naarm,Australia. Leo was the dearest person and I am forever grateful for his care and understanding. I will miss him so very much. 8/23/2026 01:35:50 pm
My sincere condolences to Leo’s family and his loved ones. So sorry I cannot make it to Nuhaka right now to honor Leo in person. Leo was always so kind, humble and passionate about the ground breaking works he did. I am honored to have been his friend and he will live on in my heart forever. Thank you Leo for the beautiful memories and showing me to your favorite places around Nuhaka and beyond whenever I came home. Home is where the heart is. ❤️🫶Rest in Eternal peace my friend.
