Passed away peacefully in Napier, aged 91 years. Beloved wife of the late George Mayger, and the late Cronje Labuschagne. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Graham & Alice and Sharon (dec) & Vic. Treasured gran of Justin & Ashleigh, Travis & Shelley, Clinton & Anna and Alethea & Jason. Proud great-grandmother of Willa, Ariana, Lilia, Tai and Maeve. Special whāngai nan to Yelēna-Belle. A funeral service for Ethne will be held at the Wairoa Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Friday 5 September at 10am. All messages to 766 Cricklewood Road, RD1, Wairoa 4191.

Daughter of the late Jack & Myra Albert. Awesome sister to John & Muriel (dec), Myra & Shady Kingi (both dec), Liz & Pat Marshall (dec), Linda & Peter Te Kahu, Karen & Sonny Jones, Jacqueline & Harry Te Rangi, Walter, Sidney (dec) & Babe, Ngaire & Deano Roberts, Spock & Noel Kaimoana, Barn & Yvonne. Going to be sooo missed from all her nieces & nephews. Stephanie will remain with whanau in Flaxmere, Hastings. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved HETA TE MAIWHI RONGOMAI ERU TE PUNI, son of Joseph TE PUNI (Dec) and Lylla(Wombles) Hoepo-Casey (Dec). Heta passed peacefully in Hastings Hospital 15th August 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Heta will lie in state at 6/136 Kopu Rd, Wairoa until the 18th August 2025. Heta will then travel to 71 Paraone Rd, Tamarau, Gisborne by 9am where he will lay for the night. Final service will be held at 11am then make his final journey to Taruheru Urupa to be cremated.

He was strong, determined, stubborn and fought right to the bitter end, alongside his sons. Beloved father to Jilane Tuhura, Pania McKay, Michael Tuhura, Jimmy Tuhura and his baby Te Rina (baba) Tuhura. Treasured father, papa, great grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and mate to many people. Dad will be ready around 4:00pm at Pickerings, where he will have a short service, then make his way to his baby's house, 80 McLean Street Wairoa. Tangi will be Monday 18th August from 11am at the Pickering Funeral Chapel, 62 Marine Parade, Wairoa. Kai will be 12noon, then the immediate family will take him to Evans Funeral Services, Gisborne for a private cremation. Passed away peacefully at Palmerston North Hospital. Beloved mumma to Willie (Big Norm), and adored Nanny Lil to Cameron, Logan, Jacob, Tairāwhiti, Te Ariki, Izaak and Dani. Cherished daughter of the late John and Mattie (née Kaa) Pomana. Treasured sister of Sonny-Boy (dec), Jane (dec), Denal (dec) and Mary. Loved cousin, aunty to all her nieces and nephews. She will travel from Palmerston North arriving at Te Poho o Te Rehu Marae, Nuhaka on Thursday 14 August between 4–5pm, where she will lie in state until Saturday 16 August. Lil’s funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday 16 August, followed by a hākari, before she is taken to Gisborne for cremation. Nau mai, haere mai. Piki mai, kake mai. |
