Passed away peacefully on Saturday 26th April 2025 at the Masonic Rest Home Taradale aged 92 years.
 
Cherished wife of Theo(dec). Treasured Mum of Murray (dec), Grant, and Warwick. Loved and loving Nana of Jeffrey, Casey, Sam, Dylan, Tyson and Bronson. 
 
A memorial service will be held at Beth Shan Funerals 371 Gloucester Street, Taradale on Wednesday 30th April 2025 at 1.30pm.

Born 21 March 1952 – Passed away 25 April 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the peaceful passing of our dearly loved Meihana — beloved daughter of Te Hira and Maraea (both deceased), cherished wife of Bruce, and deeply treasured mother of Rodney and Roberta, Craig (deceased), Bridget and Chad, Quintin and Melanie, James and Lynette, Leigh and Nikita.

Adored nanny to her many mokopuna and moko tuarua, and a much-loved sister to Te Hira Jnr, Karen (deceased), Thomas (deceased), and Mate (deceased). A proud aunty, whanaunga, cousin and friend to so many.

Ko te whaea, ko te puna aroha – he taonga tuku iho.
Our beautiful mother, the heart of our whānau, has begun her final journey.

A celebration of Meihana’s life will be held at Pickering’s Funeral Services, 62 Marine Parade, Wairoa, at 10.00am on Sunday 27 April 2025. Following this, she will return to her tūrangawaewae at Whāngārā Marae, where her tangihanga will be held at 11.00am on Tuesday 29 April 2025.

In accordance with her wishes, a private cremation will follow.

While at Whāngārā the whānau will be receiving manuhiri at the following times:

Monday 28 April 2025:
9.00am, 11.00am, and 3.00pm

Tuesday 29 April 2025:
9.00am

On behalf of the Jenkins whānau, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our papa Michael James Jenkins who left us peacefully on Wednesday afternoon. Beloved husband to Mere Jenkins, Father to Juanita, Matthew and Irene. Grandfather and great- grandfather to his many mokos. Loving sibling and uncle to his whānau. Mike will lay at his home, 116 Kopu Road on Thursday evening 24th April with his whānau. He will be transported to Taihoa marae on Friday afternoon and will lay there until his service. Service will be held 11.30am on Sunday 27th April at St Peter’s Parish. He will be laid to rest at Wairoa Lawn Cemetery followed by hakari at Taihoa marae.

Ka tangi te tītī, ka tangi te kākā, ka tangi hoki ahau

On behalf of the Nissen whānau, it is with the heaviest of hearts to announce the passing of our beautiful nanny, Here-Turi-Koka Nissen (nee Mei), Saturday afternoon 19/04/2025.

She fought diligently, greatly outliving her prognosis. She was truly an inspiration to us all.

Nanny will leave her whare at 26 Karaka Street Wairoa, Monday 21st of April at 10:00am, whereafter she will lay at Te Waimako Marae until the nehu on Wednesday the 23rd of April, service beginning 11:00am.

Please be respectful and patient of the whānau at this time as we process this mamae, this is the greatest of losses.

After a long illness fought stubbornly right to the end, Doris passed peacefully in her own home on Wednesday 16 April 2025 at Iwitea Pa across the road from where she was born 85 years ago.
 
Last surviving child of the late Tiwha Pukeke (from Whanganui) and the late Rewai Makere Pukeke (nee Mahanga from Iwitea, Ruataniwha and Mohaka). Cherished sister to her late siblings. Loved niece, cousin, aunty, nanny and friend. 
 
Wife of the late George Te Otinga Nicholson.  Devoted mother of the late Tiwha, the late Howard, Pine-Waitai and Anthony. Mother-in-law of Vanessa, and Nanny of Logan and Charlize. 
 
Sincerest thanks to her medical team, Jan, Sue, Pare, Patrick, Nigel and the other Iwitea Pa locals for supporting Doris in her last years.  Those years were difficult, so was she. Nga mihi.
 
From Thursday afternoon Doris will lie at her beloved Iwitea Marae where she contributed her time as cook, cleaner, wananga and church supporter, trustee and kaikaranga.
 
Her funeral service will be held on Easter Sunday 20 April at 11am. Following she will be laid to rest at Iwitea Urupa between her sisters, Mickey-Mouse and Twang, upon her long-missed and waiting son Tiwha. Hakari to follow at Iwitea Marae. Ka oti.

Ra Walters will lay in state at Rangiahua Marae from 1.30pm today (Tues 15th April) until 11am Friday 18th April – her last Whakamoemiti.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Arimawha Urupa. All welcome to return to Rangiahua for Hakari.

A celebration service of Grant’s life will be held at the Equestrian Park on Equestrian Lane, Hastings on Friday 11 April at 10:30am followed by refreshments. It is with the deepest sadness we wish to share the sudden passing of our taonga.
 
Loving “Dad” to his 3 kuri, Lucy, Joe and Honey.  Dearly loved son, brother,uncle, papa, cousin and friend to many.
 
Uncle will lie at his home, 1 Waihirere Road from Saturday 5th April. On Sunday at 10am he will travel to Te Rauhina Marae where his funeral service will be held at 1pm followed by his burial at Okaka Urupa.
