Celebrating the Life of Steve Broomfield. We honour the memory of Steve Broomfield—a husband, father, author, and submariner. Steve was a man of quiet strength and immense intellect. Whether serving beneath the waves in the British Submariner Corps, running safari tours in Africa, or penning stories as a published author, he moved through the world with the character of a true English gentleman. He found great peace in nature and the greatest joy in his marriage to his devoted and loving wife, Di. He leaves behind his children Paul (Australia), and Claire (France), and sister Lorraine (England), and a lifetime of beautiful memories of Wairoa and his treasured 'Bush Valley' on Whakamahi Road. His kindness and caring soul will never be forgotten. Following his cremation, a private ceremony will be held. It is with much sadness we advise the peaceful passing of John at his home on Wednesday 4th February 2026.
